Is blog post is taken from Week 9 of The Fertility Formula - an easy, six-step online program that can help boost your fertility naturally & make your DREAMS of growing your family, come true.
Within week eight you'll discover the top Foods & Supplements to Add Into Your Diet to Maximise Fertility! If you want to boost your egg quality and increase your chances of getting and staying pregnant, then bringing in some of the top fertility superfoods is key!
I don't believe in fertility superfoods, but if there's one food that I think is AMAZEBALLS it's liver!
Rich in protein, low in calories and packed with essential vitamins and minerals; liver is one of the most nutrient-dense foods available. But what makes it even more of a " fertility superfood" is that the nutrients can be easily accessed by our body.
Fu*k the cray expensive supplements - you can get a pound of organic chicken livers for like $5 & it will last you months, as you don't want to OD on it!! [Kresser recommends that you eat three to four ounces of organic, grass-fed liver every week & I'm totally on board with is.]
Beef liver (100 g) contains 145mcg, Folate, 11.0 mg of Calcium, 476mg of Phosphorus, .26mg of Thiamin, 18mg of Magnesium, 380mg of Potassium, 8.8 of Iron, .63mg of Vitamin E, 4mg of Zinc, 96mcg of Biotin, 12mg of Copper, 27mg of Vitamin C, 53,400 IU of Vitamin A, 19IU of Vitamin D, 4.19mg of Riboflavin, 16.5mg of Niacin, 8.8mg of Pantothenic Acid, .73mg of Vitamin B6, 111.3mcg of Vitamin B12. Not to mention smaller amounts of many other vitamins and minerals, important trace minerals like molybdenum, plus lots of glycine, methionine, cysteine, and glutamic acid… all of which support the various oxidation, reduction, hydrolysis, and conjugation pathways involved in detoxification by your liver and are important for metabolism, central nervous system health, and immune health. 🤢 Maybe. But I felt a dramatic shift in my health when I started to eat liver - it's like it supercharged my healing process!!
Have you tried this amazing fertility superfood yet?
If not, here's how you can bring this fertility superfood into your life:
I used to just sauté, chop into small chunks & pop it into my bone broth soup - yep, I was that hardcore!! You'll want to sauté in a frying pan with a little oil of your choice for at least 5 minutes - it should be cooked until they are no longer bloody in the core. If you want to double, make sure to use a food thermometer to check the internal temperature- you want it to be >70°C
I now chop up lightly frozen liver as fine as I can and then mix it into my mincemeat so the whole family gets it into their diet at least 2 times a month. You can do this when you're cooking tacos, meatloaf, burgers, bolognese or anything else you think of! There are a few meals within the Boost Your Embryos Paleo | Whole 30 & AIP Friendly 4-week meal plan with over 30+ easy fertility nourishing recipes!
You can make a Liver Pâté - the Paleo Mom has a great recipe.
You can make your own liver pill or you can buy liver supplements over in the Finding Fertility Amazon Shop
