Hello beautiful and welcome to finding fertility. I'm your host, Monica Cox from finding fertility.co And I created this podcast to help get you to start thinking outside of the box and realise that your infertility might have nothing to do with your lady bits rooted in functional medicine and personal experience. Finding fertility is all about looking at the whole body and finding the root cause of your infertility. Finding fertility does not diagnose, prescribe or treat any issues of infertility. But what we do is take a holistic approach and improve your diet and your lifestyle to get you steps closer to creating your dream family. Just by being here with me listening to this podcast, you're already going down the right path to making your dreams come true. Let's do this together. Happy Friday, y'all welcome back to another episode today we have a quick one is actually a q&a over in the fertility formula.
And when you work with me one on one, you get access to a community board or you can literally ask anything and everything and I help guide you and direct you. So I had a question about struggling with maintaining, you know, your right diet for your to help improve your fertility. And I don't really think there's anyone out there that does not struggle with this new diet and this new lifestyle. So I actually went ahead and made a recording for her, I usually just answer the community via text, I just respond by typing back to you. But this one I thought just needed a little support there is within the formula. A bonus in week four, giving a little pep talk about this diet fucking sucks. But I've actually linked this podcast is actually a recording private recording within YouTube.
For everyone in the formula to watch on week two, I think it is and when you're just about to start your 30 day reset. And just to give you that little extra support, and just to remind everyone that it's consistency and not perfection. So without further ado, here it is. Hi. So I wanted to come on here and answer this question for you. Let me say what the question is, so other people listening to this can know what we're on about. So feeling really overwhelmed with maintaining a healthy diet, and honestly, probably not avoiding everything I should. I'm definitely eating better than normal. But it is still very challenging for me. I'm no, I'm also supposed to be limiting stress. So kind of feel in a catch 22 situation. Any suggestions on how not to stress about maintaining clean eating? Yeah, so you're totally spot on with that if the stress of a clean eating diet is too much, then you really need to focus on where you can be and feel good about your progress.
So if you have you know, really honed in on, let's just say your top three things that you're intolerant to, you can feel a little bit more relaxed about the other things. And if you're able to do out of sight, out of mind at home, do a lot of meal prepping for yourself, when you're out and about when you go over to a friend's when you go out for dinner, even when you travel, then you can just be a little bit more relaxed and feel confident that the majority of what you're doing is being consistent and lowering your inflammation.
And so your body is going to be able to handle those stressful situations. Like I don't know, eating movie popcorn or something a little bit better. That's probably like the worst thing to eat. But you know what I'm talking about like something that you really, really limit and then every once in a while bring back in. It's really important to be consistent with this and not be perfect. I know that we're all just in different areas and different phases of our journey. And so you can sometimes like Like for me, it was like I was already For six years and my journey not seeing, one positive pregnancy test and then having a miscarriage. So my commitment level was just almost extreme, if I'm completely honest, but that's only because I was on this journey for far too long and didn't really have the right guidance and support.
And I felt like my chances because I only had a certain amount of eggs in the freezer, and I didn't know I can get pregnant naturally. So. So we all have our different commitment level levels. And that's where we need to, like really honour ourselves, like, where am I? What am I actually able to do, and really devise a meal plan and your lifestyle around that. And when you're able to consistently do that, it gets easier and easier. So if you are like, let's say, two months down the line, you're still not maybe seeing the results you want in your small goals, then that's when you're like, Okay, I can commit to a little bit more, now I'm ready to, you know, add in more foods that I'm probably intolerant to, or are serving my highest purpose. I mean, this is just an example, my husband buys these kettle, organic salt and vinegar chips. And I keep saying to him, I was like, those are just full of shit. And he's like, but they're organic, like, but it doesn't matter.
But, uh, so like, let's say you have like, something like that, like it's a healthier version, but you kind of know that it's not serving your ultimate purpose, you can eventually get there, right. And remember that when you're dramatically cutting out most things, so you say that, you know, you're eating better than normal, that is definitely the right step. And then maintaining those stress levels are going to help really kick everything else into play. So remember, consistency, not perfection, you're dramatically reducing a lot anyways. So that's going to be really helpful. control what you can within your home meal plan, I just think is essential to success, especially when you're building new habits. It's just too easy to just fall into old habits if you don't have things ready to go. So I used to chop up all the lettuce and stuff and place it in five different containers.
And then I would do like my veg and have it in like a medley. And I would just every morning pop like that medley of whatever vegetables I would put on my salad, then I would add, you know, a few nuts and then my balsamic vinegar ret during that day. So it was really easy for me to pack lunches throughout the week, instead of having to feel like I was prepping a salad every single morning. So find little ways that you can just make your time in the kitchen that much easier. I know, when I make no motto which you guys all have the recipe within the formula. I make a huge batch of sauce. And then when I make the actual meal, I make a huge batch of the meal. So I'm only making sauce about every four months now, if that. And I only have to make the meal like every other time because I just put it in the freezer. And it just pop it out for lunches or dinners. So if you can find little ways at home to do that for yourself, just to make your time in the kitchen less.
That would be really good. In the pep talk, I know I talk about mindset and this is like the key to success as well. And this is why people don't understand why they feel like they're failing or feel like they're struggling. I know I've said it a few times. I'll say it again. I remember sitting at my kitchen table and I had this beautiful plate of steak, a eggs and some salty, salty spinach at the time. My breakfast radically changed throughout my whole journey. And it was early in the morning and I was tired and I was just transitioning to this new lifestyle and I was pissed. I was sitting there like Grumpy little brat. And then I like literally physically started laughing at myself out loud. And I was like this is ridiculous. Like here I am able to afford this food for one able to gain access to this knowledge whether I mean, for me, it was a one to one coach at the time. But for you guys here in this course, or listening to the podcast or consuming the stuff on social media, I have this knowledge. Yeah, I didn't know that it would work at the time, but I can tell you it will work. Like it will help. And that's when I kind of was like, I have to start refraining like thinking about these things in a different light.
Because if I'm going to be really grumpy every time I sit down for a meal, it's just not going to work. And, I mean, it took time, that wasn't like the miracle, like, it was so much easier after that. But definitely with that knowledge that you're telling yourself when you have to go in and make yet another meal for yourself, and you're just not used to that. Like, you have to just start being grateful thank you for the kitchen that I have. Thank you for the pots and pans that I have, thank you for the money that I have to buy these foods. Thank you that I have this knowledge, thank you for giving me these tools to empower myself to take control because I don't want to go through, you know, years and years of infertility, I don't want to have another miscarriage.
So putting that mindset and reframing whatever is getting, like all consuming or really stressful, in a different light can really help shift that the stress of it all. So it's kind of twofold. You know, if you can give yourself some breaks in other, you know, in some ways, and really start shifting up your mindset, then and just be consistent. And don't beat yourself up on the days that you don't aren't perfect. But keep going like the next day, you know, okay, I'm going to do this, I'm going to do that. And you just get you get better and better at it. And it becomes your lifestyle. I know for me, it's a complete lifestyle. And it's crazy that if I had to go shop and eat for a week, like I used to back in 2000. And oh, to show my age eight, I would be sick like and it wasn't even bad food. Like it wasn't even a bad diet. We didn't really eat out loads and stuff.
So. But yeah, if I went and shopped that way and ate the food I ate on a weekly basis, and especially with breakfast, you know, running out the door with toast in my hand. And that's how I would eat breakfast was driving to work with a piloto saw my lap, and a cup of black tea. So a lot of dramatic changes. And they were all very, very necessary. But just give yourself patience, like be patient with yourself. Because you are building incredibly new habits. And I think for many of us, it's still incredibly hard because we live in this society that were just bombarded with easy choices and delicious food they have like some of the top fucking scientists out there, you know, really putting in the scientific work to make your taste buds crave that food over and over and over again. So it is a huge challenge. And it does get easier. And you're like I'm not perfect with it. And I think any wellness person out there who's like I'm perfect. They either have a personal chef or completely lying, because it is hard to be consistent. But know that like you said, you're dramatically reducing so much anyways, that you will start seeing results.
And remember keep focusing on those little normal common health issues. And see those improve and then that's how you can feel confident that this this is working. And yeah, just to reiterate, like I said before, if you're not seeing the results you want, then that's that is when you want to dig deeper. So to be honest with yourself, can I do a little bit better with my diet? Can I do a little bit better with my stress levels? Do I need to get some functional testing to see whether my gut health is completely all over the place? If I have a hidden bug what my you know, mineral levels or like and stuff like that, get a little bit more tired. did it. But yeah, so I hope this has helped. I know it's really stressful and hard especially in the beginning, you're not alone. There's hundreds of women doing the same exact thing you are. So just keep going day by day. Don't beat yourself up when you don't feel like you're perfect and celebrate yourself for even showing up every day. Because like you're not going to get a medal of honour doing this. Like your reward is going to you know, eventually be your ultimate goal which will take time.
But I hope this has helped and reach out with any questions within the community. I love connecting with you guys and really honing in on this and if you just connect.
