Week 19: The Subtle Shift From Anxiety to Trust in IVF & Fertility

There was a version of me who thought trust would feel obvious. Something clear and undeniable, like a moment I could point to and say, there it is, I’ve arrived. I thought it would feel certain, grounded in a way that removed all questioning. But when it started showing up, it didn’t look anything like that.

It was quieter. Subtle enough that I could have easily overlooked it if I was still searching for something bigger. I remember standing in line somewhere, phone already in my hand, halfway into the habit of filling the space. That automatic need to scroll, to distract, to make the moment pass quicker. And then something shifted, not in a dramatic way, just enough that I didn’t reach for it. I stood there, present, not restless, not needing to escape the pause.

At the time, I wouldn’t have called that trust. It didn’t feel like a breakthrough. It didn’t feel like anything had changed. But looking back, it was one of the first moments where I stopped overriding myself. There was no urgency pushing me forward, no internal pressure telling me I needed to be somewhere else mentally or emotionally. Just a quiet steadiness that hadn’t been there before.

That’s how it started showing up for me. Not in the big decisions I thought would define everything, but in the small, almost forgettable moments where my usual patterns didn’t take over. Choosing to go to bed instead of staying up and distracting myself. Making a decision without looping through every possible outcome. Sitting with a feeling instead of immediately trying to fix or solve it. None of it felt like effort. It felt like something loosening.

Before that, trust always felt like something I had to work toward. Something I needed to practice or prove or build. I thought if I could just get my mindset right, or find the right tools, or follow the right process, then I would finally feel it. But the more I tried to create it, the more it stayed out of reach. It only started to become real when I stopped trying to manufacture it altogether.

There was a point where control stopped working in the way I thought it should. Not all at once, but enough times that I couldn’t ignore it anymore. The planning, the overthinking, the constant adjusting. It wasn’t creating the safety I believed it would. It was just keeping me in motion. And underneath that motion was a quiet exhaustion I had gotten used to.

When that started to soften, even slightly, something else had room to come through. Not certainty, not answers, but space. And in that space, there was a different kind of response. One that didn’t come from fear or urgency. One that didn’t need to rush to the next step. It didn’t feel like doing less for the sake of it. It felt like no longer pushing against myself.

What surprised me most was how easy it was to miss. Trust didn’t announce itself. It didn’t show up as confidence or bold decisions. It showed up as waiting without anxiety. As choosing without needing reassurance. As knowing when to move and when not to, without needing to explain it to myself.

It didn’t remove discomfort. It didn’t mean everything suddenly felt clear. But there was a steadiness underneath it that hadn’t been there before. A sense that I didn’t need to force anything into place for things to start shifting.

And the more those moments happened, the more something began to build. Not through effort, but through experience. Every time I stayed with myself instead of reacting, it reinforced something deeper than anything I could have thought my way into.

That’s the part that changed everything. Not trying to trust, but noticing when it was already happening. Letting those moments count, even when they felt small. Especially when they felt small.

Because that’s where it actually grows.

Week 20: Why Letting Go of Control Feels So Uncomfortable but Necessary During Infertility & IVF

 Let's Do This Together 💚

Monica

Listen up, lovelies: Everything I share about health, diet, or fertility magic is my opinion. Yep, it’s all based on years of trial and error, study, reading, listening, and side-eyeing the nonsense out there. What worked for me might be a jackpot for you—or it might be a total flop. Bodies are weird like that. 🤷‍♀️

Let’s get one thing straight: I’m not a doctor, nutritionist, dietitian, or any other kind of licensed health wizard. If you need medical advice, run—don’t walk—to an actual qualified professional. Don’t come back here saying Monique told you to eat kale for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, okay?

As for the products I mention, they’re either what I used during my own infertility rollercoaster or what I wish I’d known about back then. No guarantees, no promises, and absolutely no refunds on your hope budget if it doesn’t work out.

Now that we’ve cleared that up, proceed with curiosity and, above all, discernment. You’ve got this. 💪✨

01:07
Finding Fertility, we are week 19, and I am so honored you are here with me becoming the conscious mama you were born to be. Over the past few weeks, 19 of them, or 18 I suppose, I hope something important has been happening, maybe quietly, maybe loudly for you. But as control softened, as overdoing slowed, as time pressure loosened, as awareness became cleaner,

01:36
I truly hope that space has opened. And in that space, I hope that something has become possible for you. And that is trust. And not the kind you try to manufacture, not the kind you repeat to yourself, but the kind that shows up when you're no longer pushing against yourself. So this week is all about noticing when trust is already present. It's sometimes...

02:05
not noticeable, feels really subtle and easy to miss. It shows up as waiting without anxiety, not scrolling, not getting your phone out when you're in line, going to bed instead of binge watching Netflix, choosing without fear or urgency as knowing when to move or when not to. Trust definitely does not announce itself and it doesn't demand certainty.

02:35
I hope you feel grounded, quiet, steady. And this week is all about noticing one moment where you didn't rush to the next step, where you didn't seek reassurance, where you don't override what your body already knows. And I want you to notice that moment, even try to notice that moment of being the observer observing the observer, because that trust grows through

03:04
experience, not effort. And every time you let yourself stay within your own timing, you reinforce that trust. So as your little reminder this week on a sticky note on your phone, touch that piece of jewelry. I choose to listen and trust and allow that space to get bigger. Next week, we're completing the series, not with an ending, but with integration.

03:33
So have a beautiful Friday and we'll see you for week 20. Thank you once again for tuning in and becoming the conscious mama you were born to be. Remember, I wasn't some magical unicorn who stumbled into fertility success. I stayed consistent. I put in the work and I made it happen. And guess what? You can too. Remember, this transformation happens when you stay committed to yourself. Trust your body, follow your intuition.
